A bancada da entrevista coletiva que encerrou o seminário em Florianópolis tinha integrantes de peso: José Maria Marin, Jèrôme Valcke, Aldo Rebelo, Marco Polo del Nero e Thierry Weil, diretor de marketing da Fifa. Mas, assim como fazia dentro do gramado, Ronaldoroubou a cena. O Fenômeno, membro do conselho de administração do COL, recebeu sete perguntas.
Falou sobre os centroavantes da Seleção, a fan fest, o lucro do país com a Copa, a atuação de Pelé como garoto-propaganda, lamentou seu peso e foi muito reticente a uma possível volta do ex-parceiro Adriano à equipe brasileira.
Para ele, o Imperador precisa dar uma resposta a si mesmo e aos torcedores antes de discutirem sua convocação. Ronaldo citou seu período de recuperação de lesão, antes da Copa de 2002, como exemplo. E disse que a situação do Imperador é uma “questão de vida”.
- Passei quase dois anos me dedicando exclusivamente à recuperação. Todo mundo torce pelo Adriano, mas ele tem de dar essa resposta. Já faz alguns anos que ele não joga, não é só uma questão esportiva, é uma questão de vida.

Principal ícone do Comitê Organizador Local no que diz respeito à divulgação da Copa do Mundo, Ronaldo também demonstrou bom humor e lamentou estar velho e “com quilos a mais” para disputar a competição. Ele conquistou os títulos de 1994 (sem entrar em campo) e 2002, quando foi artilheiro do torneio.
- Adoraria ter alguns anos a menos e muitos quilos a menos para jogar no meu país. Seria fantástico, mas o tempo não ajudou. Mas acredito no projeto como oportunidade de negócio e legado para o Brasil. Faço porque amo meu país - disse o Fenômeno, que ganhou um rival na luta para emagrecer: Jèrôme Valcke.
- Estamos concorrendo para ficar abaixo dos cem quilos – brincou o francês.

- A grande maioria está a favor da Copa do Mundo. Ficarei até o fim tentando mostrar a essa pequena minoria que a Copa é um grande negócio para o Brasil e vai deixar centenas de legados. Temos o exemplo do Rio Grande do Sul, que, por causa da Copa, terá um PIB de R$ 500 milhões.

Sobre o herdeiro da camisa 9, que foi sua nas Copas de 1998, 2002 e 2006, o Fenômeno citou jogadores que já têm sido convocados por Felipão, além de Leandro Damião. Alan Kardec, cotado para o amistoso do próximo dia 5, contra a África do Sul, não foi lembrado, mas ele admitiu a chance de surpresas.
- Acho que não tem muita novidade sobre isso. São os mesmos: Fred, Jô, Damião... Mas o Brasil é um país cheio de talentos, vamos ter de esperar até o último momento pela lista final.

- O Brasil tem carência grande de ídolos, então pessoas como ele passam credibilidade ao público. Além do rei que foi dentro de campo, tem carisma, esse trabalho é importante.
O próximo tema abordado foi a indefinição em torno da Fan Fest no Recife. O prefeito da cidade não está disposto a realizar o evento, algo fechado e que serve para reunir torcedores e expor produtos de marcas que patrocinam o torneio.
O ex-jogador recorreu à infância para reforçar o discurso da Fifa, que se diz convicta de que Recife vai mudar de ideia e organizar seu espaço.
- Tenho memórias incríveis de quando eu era criança e íamos para a casa do amigo que tivesse a maior televisão. A população merece assistir à Copa. A última foi em 1950, o ideal é que todos participem.
Para finalizar sua participação, Ronaldo até se esqueceu da pergunta feita por um repórter, em razão da longa explanação do ministro Aldo Rebelo. Enquanto isso, José Maria Marin, presidente da CBF e do COL, não recebeu nenhuma pergunta. Já Marco Polo del Nero, provável candidato à sua sucessão na Confederação, nem sequer se pronunciou.
